Cutting a brass gear for a music box. Used a 5C spin indexer and a homemade fly cutter.

Here is the gear blank set up on my Smithy 1220. I'm using a cheap 5C spin indexer from Harbor Freight. This indexer does 0-360 degrees in 1 degree increments.

Close-up of the gear blank in the fixture. Each tooth is spaced 6 degrees apart. The cutter profile was shaped by hand from a HSS blank.
